Monica Shkolnik
Vocals & Guitar

‘Hello, people call me Mon. I am Lil’ Rockstar leader and also a teacher at The SoundLab during the week. I have a focus on technical training, understanding breath control and connection to emotion through lyric. I have great capacity to support kids with song writing, vocal improvisation and assist with progression building exercises.

Having an International Baccalaureate at Wesley College, completed a Bachelor of Arts (Music) at The Australian College of the Arts, majoring in Composition and Performance. With a focus on the development of song writing practice. I was under the tutelage of artists such as Ainslee Wills, Jesse Hooper, Ella Hooper and Annie Neil. Upon graduating this degree in the top percent of her class, I was awarded a Scholarship to work with Melbourne based Producer Ryan Ritchie. While completing levels 1-6 of AMEB I have performed periodically throughout the years in both classical and contemporary forums.

Having a deep love for music and expression Mon is super enthusiastic and fantastic with kids. She looks forward to the opportunity to share these skills with a new generation of evolving musicians in Melbourne.’

G-Flip!
Drums & Percussion

‘Hello, my name is Georgia Flipo A.K.A G-Flip! I’m from Melbourne, Victoria and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Music Performance, majoring in drums at Box Hill Institute of Tafe. I’m a drummer at heart but I love jumping on the guitar, keys, mic or even the DJ decks time to time! I love working with kids and I love passing on my knowledge, which helps being a part time drum teacher / rock star J. I’m currently in a few different bands ranging in genres from Alternative Rock, Acoustic and Electro.

Music is an integral part of my life and I hope to be pursuing it for as long as I live! Some of my favourite artists include The Rolling Stones, The Clash, The Cure, Jimi Hendrix, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and plenty more. The SoundLab’s Lil Rockstar programs are an absolute joy to run especially along side Allara, not only being great chicks but awesome musicians as well. Hopefully us here at The SoundLab will get to see your smiling faces soon! Keep on Rockin!’
